Beryl Be3Al2SiO6
Small Emerald Crystal
In the picture above is an example of emerald, a variation of beryl. The light green form of Beryl is not recognized as Emerald, but rather Green Beryl. The deep color of Emerald is caused by traces of the element chromium, but sometimes also vanadium. Emerald often crystallizes in perfect, six-sided hexagons. Jadeite NaAlSi2O6
Waterworn Jadeite Nugget

Jadeite is mostly known for the gem version known as Jade. Jadeite is not the only form of Jade; the amphibole mineral Nephrite (a variety of Actinolite) also has a gem form of Jade.
